Welcome to Harmonized Cookery.

My name Lisa Mase (pronounced ‘Leeza Mahzay’). I am a healthy eating coach, nutrition educator, food justice activist, and folk herbalist living on 14 acres of land outside of Montpelier, Vermont.

I help clients and students find a balanced weight, feel energized and nourished, rest well, and practice cooking simple, seasonal meals that are attuned to specific body types and health goals. When we work together, you will learn to use food to heal dis-eases, from the cold and flu to indigestion and constipation.

​Food is medicine. I ​trust that we can all learn to use it as our primary source of health care.

About Me

I grew up in Italy, cradled by the Adriatic Sea and the Dolomites that define the border between Italy and Austria. I believe that healing comes from eating local foods, as close to the source as possible, that are attuned to the foods of our ancestors.

I am grateful to all my teachers, including the original ones: my dad and my grandmother. 

I work with those who need support in healing from chronic conditions such as parasites, Crohn's Disease, Celiac Disease, Colitis, IBS, and auto-immune disorders. I work with FODMAPS, SCD, GAPS, Paleo, Gluten-free, elimination and other dietary protocols.

I help busy families and those who want to learn more about whole, local, seasonal eating to achieve their goals.

I draw from the wisdom traditions of European Herbalism, Ayurveda, Macrobiotics, Mindful Eating, and Chinese Five Element Theory to offer a comprehensive, universal view of food as medicine. I stay attuned to nutrition and diet trends to better support you and answer questions.

I am certified in Sustainable Food Systems through the University of Vermont and continue to attend courses in Culinary Medicine and Mind-Body Healing. I am a member of Food Tank and Slow Food. I serve on the Farm to Plate Network's Food Access and Health Committees.

I specialize in local, seasonal foods that are free of gluten, dairy and sugar and taste terrific!
After ten years of chronic illness, I was able to take charge of my own well-being with food as medicine.
